Read an RSS or Atom feed from any Windmill script or flow, and run something when a new item appears.
Set up in 3 steps
Find the feed URL
Most sites publish it in the page head or link to it directly. Any URL returning RSS or Atom works.
Add the resource in Windmill
Open Resources, add a resource of type rss, and paste the URL.
Schedule the trigger
The feed fetcher below is a trigger script: give it a schedule, and it returns only the items it has not seen before.
Scripts
Building blocks, if none of the projects above fit. Fork one, run it, or call it as a step inside your own flow.
Trigger flows from RSS
RSS is not only a destination. These inbound paths are supported today.
New feed items (scheduled poll)
A scheduled run returns only what appeared since the last one, so a flow acts once per item. To run it, open a flow, add a trigger and choose Scheduled Poll, then pick the trigger script and an interval. Windmill puts the script first in the flow with a loop after it, so the steps you add run once per new item. The cursor is saved per flow: two flows polling the same source each get every item, and test runs keep a cursor of their own.
Resource type
The shape of the credential every script on this page expects.

Questions
How does it know what is new?
The trigger script keeps a watermark between runs. Its first run sets the mark and returns nothing rather than replaying the whole feed.
